The Emergency Broadband Benefit, or EBB, is a limited-time program that went into effect on May 12, 2021, that provides discounts on monthly broadband Internet access service and certain connected devices to qualifying individuals in need.
How do I qualify for EBB?
Has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participates in certain assistance programs, such as SNAP, Medicaid, or Lifeline; Approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision in the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 school year; Received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year;

The Emergency Broadband Benefit, or EBB, was launched Wednesday to help a surprisingly wide range of people hit economically by the coronavirus pandemic. It can pay $50 every month towards the cost of your Internet service, and it is available to all families who lost some income in the last year and earn less than $198,000, among others. With $3.2 billion up for grabs, the EBB is the largest federal program to help with Internet bills in the three decades Americans have been going online
How do I qualify for the Lifeline Program?
The Lifeline Assistance program is available for only one wireless account per household. Separate households that live at the same address are eligible, including residents of nursing homes. Residents with temporary addresses are also eligible. Offer limited to eligible customers (varies by State) residing in selected geographic areas and is non-transferable. Offers not available in all states/areas. Consumers who willfully make false statements in order to obtain the benefit can be punished by fine or imprisonment or can be barred from the program. Accessing voicemail draws from plan minutes and charges may apply once free minutes have been depleted. Some exclusions may apply. Only eligible individuals may enroll in the Lifeline program. Lifeline service is limited to only one wireless or landline Lifeline benefit per household. You also cannot receive Lifeline benefits from multiple service providers.
